China has restated its firm opposition to any country assuming the role of the world’s judge or global policeman, reinforcing its long-standing foreign policy stance on sovereignty and non-interference in the internal affairs of other nations.
The position was articulated by China’s Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, during a high-level diplomatic engagement in Beijing, where he stressed that global affairs should not be dictated by the will or power of a single country acting unilaterally.
According to Wang, international disputes and security challenges must be addressed through established international mechanisms, particularly the United Nations, rather than through actions taken outside multilateral consensus.
China’s remarks came against the backdrop of heightened global tension following recent international developments involving the United States and Venezuela, which have sparked widespread debate over the limits of foreign intervention and the application of international law.
Without naming any country directly, Beijing made it clear that it considers unilateral actions that undermine national sovereignty as unacceptable and contrary to the principles of the UN Charter.
Wang emphasized that all countries, regardless of size or power, are equal members of the international community and deserve respect for their territorial integrity, political independence, and right to choose their own development paths.

He further noted that the selective application of rules or the use of power politics risks destabilizing the global order and eroding trust among nations, particularly developing countries.
China has consistently advocated for a multipolar world, arguing that global peace and stability are better preserved when decisions are made collectively rather than imposed by a single dominant power.
The statement also aligns with Beijing’s broader diplomatic messaging in recent years, which portrays China as a defender of international law, dialogue, and negotiated solutions over coercion or force.
As geopolitical rivalries continue to intensify, China’s rejection of any country acting as the world’s judge or policeman underscores its push for a global system based on mutual respect, shared responsibility, and multilateral cooperation rather than unilateral dominance.
