In the letter dated 11th July 2024 and titled: DEMAND FOR OUTSTANDING SIGN – ON FEE PAYMENT OF ERSTWHILE PLAYERS AND OFFICIALS FROM 2014/2015 TILL DATE, counsel to the group, Y.Y Ajibade esq traced the events following the owed sign-on fees, and all avenues exhausted to get the club management to pay the outstanding emoluments of the group members.
The counsel decried the response of the club management, which paid what was described as “Paltry” N5m, representing 2.4% of the outstanding sum of N196m. The letter declared that this, had put members of the aggrieved group in dire financial situations, with many of them unable to meet their financial obligations after rendering their services to the club.
Consequence to this, the counsel on behalf of the group issued a 7-day Ultimatum for the owed sum to be paid into a given Jaiz bank account, or face an escalation of the matter to the NFF and FIFA redress mechanisms.
Efforts to reach the Kwara United FC management Chairman proved abortive, as his known telephone number was not connecting after several attempts.
Meanwhile, two members of the aggrieved group, who were team captains at different times, Onigbari Akeem and Sherif Jimoh have appealed to the State governor, Mal. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to wade into the matter for a swift intervention and resolution of the situation.
