The family of Yahaya Imam Nafiu whose wife, Chognika Latoyossi Alake, gave birth to 11 babies has cried out for assistance.
Yahaya hails from Onikẹkẹ compound, Popo Giwa, Ilọrin while his wife is from Ajase in Cotonou, Benin Republic.
The Incident happened in Ajase where the family presently resides.
National Moonlight reports that the development went viral on many social media platforms in the state.
Elder brother of Yahaya who happens to be the Imam of Iponrin, Alhaji Zakariyau Nafiu, confirmed the incident when this medium visited.
According to him, “The husband, Yahaya, was born and schooled in Ilorin before he left for Cotonou around 10 years ago for business.
“Alake is the third wife and had two children for him before this incident apart from the children from the other wives.
“But two babies are dead with nine left and we don’t want further fatalities”.
He said they informed the Emir of Ilorin and other relevant people about the development. “We want them to come home but that is not easy with the present situation of the family”.
Alhaji Yahaya Isiaq Onikẹkẹ, also a brother to the father of the hendecuplets, pleaded the federal and state government and other well to do individuals to assist the family “because we don’t have the capacity”.
He said this is the first time such would happen in the family adding that the highest they have had was twins.
Paternal brother of the children, Habeeblah, said their mother first had “six children at a local hospital known as Baba Alagbo in July 7th in Cotonou. We thought that was all but she kept saying she was not feeling fine which prompted a scan which discovered that some babies were left.
“She returned to the same Baba Alagbo in August where she had the remaining five babies”, he added.
