The Chairman, Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC, Mr Christopher Maikalangu has decried the attitude of residents dumping refuse in drainages.
Briefing newsmen after inspecting projects in some communities within the council on Wednesday, Maikalangu said they would begin enforcement of punitive sanctions against the offending culprits.
Specifically, the AMAC boss said defaulters would be made to pay a fine to serve as a deterrent to others.
“I can’t see reasons why people bring trash from their houses to dump into the flood drains.
“This is wrong, and it is the cause of water overflowing onto the roads.
