The United States Federal Bureau of Investigation has arrested two Nigerians, Christopher Falade and his son, Emmanuel Falade, over an alleged multi-million-dollar wire fraud scheme targeting the Minnesota Housing Stabilization Program.
According to federal prosecutors, the Falades were indicted alongside six other suspects for their roles in a network that allegedly exploited a program meant to support struggling families and individuals at risk of losing their homes.
Investigators claim the group submitted falsified applications and manipulated financial records to siphon funds meant for housing relief.
The scheme allegedly relied on electronic communications, emails, online forms, and bank transfers, triggering federal wire fraud charges.

Court documents show that the suspects are accused of misrepresenting eligibility, inflating claims, and diverting funds to personal accounts. Although authorities have not released the total amount involved, officials described the losses as “significant” and warned that such fraud undermines critical social safety nets.
The Falades were taken into custody in Minnesota and now face prosecution in the U.S. District Court. If convicted, each defendant could face heavy fines and lengthy prison sentences under federal wire fraud statutes.
