Troops of Operation SAVANNAH SHIELD have arrested two suspected terrorists and kidnappers on the outskirts of Apado village in Ilorin East Local Government Area of Kwara State.
Security sources said the suspects were intercepted at about 1:05 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2026, by troops of Patrol Base Apado during a security operation.
Items recovered from the suspects included one motorcycle, one cutlass and two mobile phones.
A preliminary examination of the mobile phones reportedly revealed photographs showing men dressed in military camouflage uniforms and brandishing AK-47 rifles.
The phones also contained images of stacks of money suspected to be ransom proceeds from kidnapped victims.
The suspects were subsequently handed over to the 9 Division Provost Group for further investigation and necessary action.
The arrest is expected to assist ongoing efforts to investigate suspected links between the individuals and terrorist or kidnapping activities in the area.
