The Kwara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed campaign directors-general for the state’s three senatorial districts ahead of its forthcoming governorship campaign, signalling a district-based approach to political mobilisation.
The appointments, announced in a statement issued on Monday, October 26, 2026, by the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Abdulwaheed Olawale Babatunde, cover Kwara North, Kwara South and Kwara Central.
For Kwara North, the party named Rt. Hon. Benjamin Yisa as Director-General, with Alhaji Ahmed Abbass appointed as his deputy. The arrangement places the responsibility for coordinating the party’s campaign activities in the northern senatorial district on the two appointees.
In Kwara South, the APC appointed Engr. Nurudeen Adeyemi, popularly known as ENACT, as Director-General. Adeyemi is a former member of the North-Central Board of Trustees of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) and an APC aspirant for the Kwara South Senatorial District.
Chief Samuel Olu Alabi, the Oluomo of Erin Ile Kingdom and a figure associated with the hospitality sector, has been named deputy director-general for the Kwara South campaign. He is expected to work with Adeyemi in coordinating the party’s activities across the district.
For Kwara Central, the party selected Alhaji AbdulRazaq Jiddah, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Duties, as Director-General. Mrs Dupe Yahaya, described as a grassroots politician from Asa Local Government Area, will serve as his deputy.
The distribution of campaign leadership across the three senatorial districts provides the APC with designated coordinators for its political activities in the state’s three major electoral blocs. The structure also places individuals with political, administrative and community connections in positions responsible for directing campaign efforts within their respective regions.
The appointments come as the party prepares to organise its campaign machinery across the state. By assigning separate leadership teams to the three districts, the APC appears to be positioning its campaign for more localised coordination and engagement with communities at the grassroots level.
However, the party has not yet released the complete membership of the governorship campaign council or announced the heads of its various directorates. According to Babatunde’s statement, further details concerning the campaign council’s composition and other appointments will be made public in due course.
The announcement was signed by Babatunde in his capacity as the Kwara APC State Publicity Secretary on October 26, 2026. The forthcoming appointments are expected to provide additional details about the party’s organisational structure and the responsibilities assigned to its campaign teams.
Rextun City Updates will continue to monitor developments concerning the Kwara APC’s campaign arrangements as further information becomes available.
