Manchester City has booked their place in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup as they beat Liverpool 3-2 in a thrilling Encounter at the Etihad Stadium.
The two teams return to action after the 2022 World Cup break was most certainly an exhilarating encounter.
City took the lead on two occasions through Erling Haaland and Riyad Mahrez only to give it up to Fabio Carvalho and Mohamed Salah strikes.
However, for Pep Guardiola’s side, a third strike and third time lead from Nathan Ake nodded in at the back post gave them the victory and they held on to it.
Manchester City has therefore marched into the last eight while Liverpool were left to take the positives from a performance they will hope to use as the basis for improvement in the second part of their campaign.
