Equatorial Guinea drew first blood with a clinical finish to a cut pass by Ivan Edu Salvador to make the score line 1-0.
The super Eagles got the equalizer almost immediately from the African footballer of the year and Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen who connected a header with a deep cut pass into the goalpost front of the Guineans.
The Nigerian side came into the second half looking little more business-like. The dearth of a play maker in the Eagles’ midfield and a resolute defence of the Guineans effectively took shine off the Super Eagles.
A little into the last quarter of the encounter, Napoli Striker in what disappointed several fans kicked the ball off target when left between him and goalkeeper Owono.
A draw against Nigeria in this encounter is an impressive result for Equatorial Guinea and the players relished their achievements on the pitch today at the expense of Nigerian Super Eagles, a three times African champion.
