Hon. Jimoh Raheem Agboola has formally declared his intention to contest for a seat in the Kwara State House of Assembly, representing Ilorin South Constituency, under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The declaration was marked by the submission of his Letter of Intention on Wednesday at the APC Secretariat in Ilorin South Local Government Area. The event drew party faithful, ward executives, and key stakeholders within the constituency, signaling early momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The letter was officially received by the APC Ilorin South Local Government Chairman in the presence of other prominent party leaders, who gathered to witness the formal step in Agboola’s political ambition.
Addressing supporters shortly after the submission, Agboola described his aspiration as a continuation of his commitment to public service.
“This is a renewed covenant to serve. I am committed to the growth, unity, and sustainable development of Ilorin South. With my legislative experience, I am ready to champion people-oriented policies and grassroots development that deliver real results for our communities,” he said.
Stakeholders at the event praised Agboola’s track record and dedication to the state, describing his entry into the race as timely and strategic. They expressed confidence in his ability to provide effective and accountable representation if elected.
Political observers note that the move positions Agboola as an early contender in what is expected to be a competitive race for the Ilorin South seat, as internal party activities gradually intensify ahead of the primaries.
The submission of the Letter of Intention marks a significant milestone in Agboola’s campaign trajectory, setting the stage for broader consultations and engagement with constituents in the months leading up to the elections.
