About four years ago, Kwarans spoke in one, loud voice to send the Saraki dynasty packing over incompetence, maladministration, impunity, sleaze, among others. Their sack has since ushered in recovery, greatness and growth for the state under the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
But being the shameless characters that they are, after messing up the whole state for the number of years they spent, they are still nursing a comeback when Kwarans said enough was enough. Kwarans said ‘o to ge’ to an incompetent dynasty that couldn’t pay something as basic as salaries to workers. The people said enough to a dynasty that couldn’t provide quality basic education and healthcare. They wobbled on all indices of governance.
The servant-leader Kwara was blessed with when the Saraki dynasty was uprooted has since been working tirelessly to rebuild the state and clear the rots inherited. Rather than hide their face, the looters and maladministrators of yesterday are regrouping again to hold Kwara to the jugulars.
But just yesterday, at the Presidential Campaign Rally in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, Kwarans spoke again. It was a massive turnout that shook the foundation of the opposition Saraki dynasty and caused them sleepless night. At the event attended by the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu accompanied by other dignitaries, Kwara placed a nail in the coffin of the Saraki dynasty. It was a bold, clear statement to them if they had ears and eyes. The Saraki dynasty has been bid a farewell!
Kwarans from across the state trooped out in support of the APC. This could not have been possible if Governor AbdulRazaq has not measured up to their expectations. Despite naysaying here and there, cynics turned out to be mere social media noisemakers and beer palour ranters. Kwara is APC. Kwara is Tinubu. Kwara is AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
I was extremely astounded by the mammoth crowd that besieged the airport to welcome the APC campaign train. The solidarity from passersby. The large turnout at the venue. The whole country knew something was happening in Ilorin. The city stood still for APC. It is evidence that it’s a goodnight for the Saraki dynasty. More reason their leaders have been in confusion since yesterday.
