Residents of Dunshigogo, a community in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State, are reportedly living in fear following claims that suspected Boko Haram terrorists have issued a threat against the area.
According to information circulating within the community, the alleged threat was conveyed through a letter believed to have been sent by members of Jama’atu Ahlissunnah Lidda’awati wal-Jihad. The message is said to resemble an earlier warning reportedly issued to Worro community, which later suffered a deadly attack.
Sources disclosed that the letter allegedly informed residents of Dunshigogo of the group’s intention to “visit” the community, a phrase that has sparked widespread panic and anxiety among villagers who fear a possible assault.
As tension rises, concerns over the safety of lives and property have deepened, with some residents reportedly contemplating relocating to safer areas should urgent security interventions fail to materialize.
Efforts by Rextun City Updates to independently confirm the authenticity of the alleged letter were unsuccessful as of the time of filing this report.
