President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially submitted 68 ambassadorial nominees to the Nigerian Senate for confirmation, marking one of the administration’s largest diplomatic reshuffles since taking office.
The nomination list, presented by Senate President Godswill Akpabio during Thursday’s plenary, includes 34 career diplomats, 31 non-career nominees, and three candidates earlier vetted by the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs. Tinubu requested an accelerated screening process to strengthen Nigeria’s representation across key foreign missions.
