Out of action for at least three months’
Huge blow to Arsenal’s Premier League title hopes
ARSENAL play maker, Gabriel Jesus is set to undergo a knee surgery after sustaining an injury at the World Cup.
There are indications that Mikel Arteta could be without his No.9 for at least three months.
The striker played for Brazil in their 1-0 defeat to Cameroon
from where he went off injured in the 64th minute with a knee problem.
Reports today are that he requires surgery. This for the Gunners is a major blow in their pursuit of the Premier League title and Arsenal will now have to rely on Eddie Nketiah.
Arsenal have a number of crucial matches after the World Cup break as they return to action on Boxing Day versus West Ham.
If Jesus’ treatment is for
a minimum of three months, it means he will miss February’s clash with his former club Manchester City and the North London derby versus Tottenham.
He will also miss the fixture versus Manchester United.
Many Arsenal fans fear the worst when he went down in Friday night’s game.
With the January transfer window around the corner it could force the club to go out and buy a new centre-forward.
