Supporters and political associates of leading All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant, Wale Sulaiman, on Wednesday staged a colourful reception for him at the General Tunde Idiagbon International Airport, Ilorin, upon his arrival in Kwara State.
The reception, organised by members of the Prof. Wale Sulaiman (PWS) Movement, drew party stakeholders, youth groups and supporters from different parts of the state, many of whom gathered at the airport hours before his arrival to express support for his political aspiration ahead of the 2027 governorship race.
Among APC leaders and stakeholders present at the reception were former Kwara State Commissioner for Water Resources, Alhaji Khaleel Bolaji; former Chairperson of Oke-Ero Local Government, Alhaja Aminat Folake Yusuf; former Ifelodun Local Government Transition Implementation Committee (TIC) Chairman, Hon. Jide Ashonibare; former Oke-Ero TIC Chairman, Hon. Owolabi Micheal; and APC House of Assembly aspirant for Oke-Ode Constituency, Hon. Jimoh Abdulrasheed.
Others at the event included Alhaji Aminat Atunse, Barrister Isaac Adebayo, Hon. Nurudeen Mohammed Kabir, Hon. Hussain Usman, Hon. Habeeb Olanipekun and several members of the PWS Movement and APC supporters across the state.
Addressing supporters shortly after his arrival, Prof. Sulaiman expressed appreciation for the reception and reiterated his commitment to inclusive leadership, human capital development and sustainable growth in Kwara State.
He also commended the administration of AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for ongoing infrastructural and developmental initiatives across the state, noting that continuity of progressive governance remains important for the future of Kwara.
Political analysts say the increasing visibility of support groups around the APC aspirant signals growing political activities within the party as consultations and alignments ahead of the 2027 governorship contest continue to gather momentum in Kwara State.
