The Nigerian naira closed at ₦1,362.09 to the US dollar in the official Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM), according to the latest exchange-rate data attributed to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
The rate reflects the most recent trading session available as of Friday, July 24, 2026, with the figure being reported as the official reference rate as trading resumed on Monday, July 27.
During the session, the naira traded within a relatively narrow range, with the highest recorded rate at ₦1,365.00/$1 and the lowest at ₦1,359.00/$1. The market’s closing rate was reported at ₦1,361.00/$1. The CBN explains that its NFEM rate is derived using a volume-weighted average and serves as the official exchange rate for the day.
The latest movement comes amid ongoing efforts by the apex bank to improve transparency and liquidity in the foreign exchange market. The CBN has also continued to implement measures aimed at strengthening the functioning of the NFEM and improving confidence in the naira.
The official exchange rate remains subject to movements in foreign exchange demand and supply, making daily rates liable to change as market conditions evolve.
