Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential candidate, has accepted defeat in Ghana’s 2024 general elections and congratulated former President John Mahama.
In his concession speech on Sunday, Bawumia revealed that internal party data suggests the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has won both the presidential and parliamentary elections.
The nationwide presidential election took place on Saturday, though the Electoral Commission of Ghana has yet to formally announce the final results.
