ANFIELD, LIVERPOOL — Wout Faes scored two own goals to condemn Leicester to a 2-1 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield in a premier league match yesterday.
The Foxes had led the score line within four minutes of play as Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall literally walked through the Reds defence to score a goal of shocking simplicity.
But the game was turned on its head by half-time, Leicester scored two own goals in farcical fashion.
Liverpool never deserved this victory in truth, but they saw out an evenly contested second half to secure a fourth Premier League win.
This was another game that proved Liverpool’s desperate need for midfield reinforcements in the January transfer window.
Leicester was quicker, stronger and smarter in the centre of the park as they swept up second balls and won the majority of the battles across the 90 minutes.
But, if there was one man in a Liverpool shirt who could come away with his head held high, it was Thiago Alcantara.
