Arsenal are through to the Carabao Cup final after edging Chelsea 1–0 in the semi-final second leg at the Emirates Stadium, sealing a 4–2 aggregate victory and sparking celebrations among the home supporters. The hard-fought win confirmed the Gunners’ return to a domestic cup final and underlined their growing maturity under Mikel Arteta.
The second leg was a tense, tightly contested London derby, with both sides fully aware of what was at stake. Chelsea arrived in north London knowing they needed a goal to level the tie after losing 3–2 in the first leg, while Arsenal were focused on protecting their slim aggregate advantage without sacrificing attacking intent.
For much of the game, chances were limited. Chelsea saw more of the ball and probed persistently, registering several attempts on goal, but Arsenal’s defensive structure held firm. The hosts, on the other hand, were patient and disciplined, choosing control over risk as the clock ticked down.
As the match edged towards full time, it appeared the semi-final might end goalless on the night. However, drama arrived deep into stoppage time when substitute Kai Havertz produced the decisive moment. Latching onto a well-weighted pass from Declan Rice, Havertz calmly rounded the goalkeeper and rolled the ball into the net to make it 1–0 on the night, effectively killing off Chelsea’s hopes of a comeback.

The late goal crowned Arsenal’s overall dominance across the two legs, with the Gunners showing composure and efficiency at key moments of the tie. While Chelsea created pressure and recorded more shots in the second leg, they were unable to turn possession into goals, a shortcoming that ultimately proved costly.
The victory marks an important milestone for Arsenal, ending recent frustrations at the semi-final stage and booking a place at Wembley Stadium for the Carabao Cup final. Arteta’s side will now await the outcome of the other semi-final to discover their opponents, with the chance to lift silverware firmly within reach.
For Chelsea, the defeat brings their Carabao Cup journey to an end despite a spirited display, shifting focus back to league and European commitments. For Arsenal, however, the night belonged to them, a narrow win, a decisive aggregate triumph, and a clear statement of intent as they march on to the final.
