Agba Akin 2027: From Local Impact to National Voice, Kayode Olaoye Deserves the Ticket

Posted on April 20, 2026April 20, 2026 By Rextun boss No Comments on Agba Akin 2027: From Local Impact to National Voice, Kayode Olaoye Deserves the Ticket

By The Voice of Reason

In a political season crowded with familiar slogans and recycled ambitions, the question before the people of Ekiti/Irepodun/Isin/Oke-Ero should be more fundamental.
Who truly understands us, and who has done the work among us?
This case for Chief Kayode Olaoye is not built on noise or novelty, but on a layered, verifiable life that aligns with the demands of effective representation.

Chief Kayode Olaoye’s story begins where it matters most, within the constituency itself. Born to the late Pharmacist Ben Olaoye of Isanlu-Isin and Madam Comfort Olaoye of Esie, his lineage reflects a bridge across local government lines. That dual-rooted identity is not symbolic; it is functional. It enables him to understand the lived realities of multiple communities, giving him an instinctive grasp of their shared aspirations and distinct concerns.

Unlike candidates who “arrive” politically, Olaoye has remained. His life has been lived within the geography he now seeks to represent. From Koro to Eruku, from Ajase-Ipo to Olla-Isin, his footprint is not electoral, it is experiential. This kind of proximity produces not just familiarity, but accountability.

With a B.Sc (Ed) in Mathematics Education earned in Ilorin, Olaoye spent 16 formative years as a classroom teacher. That phase of his life is critical. Teaching mathematics is not merely about numbers; it is about structure, logic, patience, and clarity, the traits that translate directly into legislative competence.

His transition into the event-services industry was not a retreat, but an expansion. As an entrepreneur and artisan, he navigated Nigeria’s informal and creative economy, an ecosystem often ignored in policy conversations but central to grassroots prosperity. Through engagements with NGOs and government agencies, particularly in tourism-related projects, he gained exposure to models of development beyond his immediate environment. That exposure now informs his vision for a constituency that can evolve from a peripheral space into a thriving hub.

Leadership is best measured not by titles held, but by structures built. Olaoye’s fingerprints are evident in the establishment of schools that have grown into stable institutions, producing professionals and sustaining teaching careers. This is generational impact, quiet, but enduring.

Within the artisan ecosystem, his roles as former Chairman of Kwara State Event Decorators, Assistant General Secretary of the Kwara Artisans Congress, and currently State Legal Officer, position him as a consensus builder. These are not ceremonial roles; they require negotiation, organization, and advocacy. These are core competencies for legislative work.

His traditional coronation as Agba-akin of Iloo Clan, Isanlu-Isin, is not an ornamental title. In Yoruba sociopolitical context, such recognition is conferred based on demonstrated service, reliability, and communal trust. It signals that the community has already tested and affirmed his leadership capacity.

“Agba Akin” is not just a campaign slogan, it is a social contract. It speaks to maturity, courage, and responsibility.

Olaoye’s aspiration is neither abstract nor exaggerated. His call for “a new horizon” is anchored in a practical objective which is transforming the constituency into a livable, secure, and economically viable space. A home, not a hideout. This framing is important. It shifts the conversation from episodic interventions to structural transformation.

His emphasis on collective participation in governance also reflects a modern legislative mindset, one that recognizes that representation is not a solo performance but a participatory process.

Political parties often face a defining choice, they reward visibility or invest in viability. Chief Kayode Olaoye represents the latter. His profile combines grassroots legitimacy, professional discipline, entrepreneurial insight, and institutional experience. These are not theoretical assets; they are operational advantages.

Granting him the ticket is not merely about individual ambition, it is about aligning candidacy with constituency needs. It is about choosing a representative who has lived the questions the people are asking.

In a constituency seeking relevance, security, and inclusive growth, the argument is straightforward: representation should not be outsourced to outsiders or reduced to rhetoric. It should be entrusted to someone whose life already mirrors the constituency’s journey.

Chief Kayode Olaoye does not need to be introduced to the people. The more compelling question is whether the political process will recognize what the people already know.
