Troops Arrest Two Suspected Terrorist Logistics Suppliers in Borno

Posted on June 22, 2026June 22, 2026 By Rextun boss No Comments on Troops Arrest Two Suspected Terrorist Logistics Suppliers in Borno

Troops of the Nigerian Army have arrested two suspected logistics suppliers believed to be supporting terrorist activities in Borno State, as part of ongoing efforts to disrupt the operational networks of insurgent groups in the North-East.

The suspects, identified as Mohammed Bukar, popularly known as “Dege,” aged 35, and 26-year-old Iliyasu Abdullahi, were apprehended during a routine stop-and-search operation at a military checkpoint on June 19.

According to military sources, the two men were intercepted while transporting Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and other items allegedly destined for members of the Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorist groups.

Investigations revealed that both suspects are natives of Kamuya village in Biu Local Government Area of Borno State. Security operatives reportedly became suspicious during the checkpoint screening, leading to a thorough search and subsequent arrest.

The recovered items, along with the suspects, are currently in military custody as authorities intensify investigations to determine the full extent of their alleged involvement in terrorist logistics and supply operations.

Security agencies have consistently identified the disruption of supply chains as a critical component of counterinsurgency operations in the region. The movement of fuel, food, communication devices, and other essential materials to insurgent camps has remained a major concern for military authorities battling terrorism in the North-East.

Military officials reiterated their commitment to sustaining operations aimed at dismantling terrorist support networks and preventing the movement of supplies that could aid insurgent activities.

The latest arrest is seen as another step in ongoing efforts by security forces to weaken the operational capabilities of Boko Haram and ISWAP by targeting individuals suspected of facilitating logistics and material support for the groups.
