Kwara Police Arrest Two Suspected Kidnap Collaborators, Intensify Hunt for Criminal Network

Posted on July 10, 2026July 10, 2026 By Rextun boss No Comments on Kwara Police Arrest Two Suspected Kidnap Collaborators, Intensify Hunt for Criminal Network

The Kwara State Police Command says it has arrested two suspects allegedly linked to the kidnapping of three persons in Ifelodun Local Government Area, describing the development as part of its sustained offensive against kidnapping and other violent crimes across the state.

According to a statement issued on Friday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, the suspects, identified as Sauni Shehu and Auwalu Bala, were apprehended following intelligence-led investigations that connected them to the abduction of three victims at Ogele Fulani Camp, via Igbaja in Ifelodun Local Government Area.

Police said the two suspects are being investigated for alleged criminal conspiracy, aiding and abetting kidnapping, as well as kidnapping. Investigators disclosed that the suspects are currently providing useful information expected to assist security operatives in identifying and arresting other members of the suspected kidnapping syndicate.

The Command noted that the arrests reflect its continued determination to dismantle criminal networks operating within the state, including those who provide logistical support, intelligence, or other forms of assistance to kidnappers.

The statement added that security operatives have intensified efforts to track down every individual connected with the crime, stressing that investigations remain ongoing.

Reacting to the development, the Commissioner of Police in Kwara State, CP Adekimi Ojo, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property through intelligence-driven policing and proactive crime prevention strategies.

He said the Command would continue to sustain pressure on criminal elements across the state while ensuring that all those involved in kidnapping and related offences are brought to justice.

The Commissioner also appealed to residents to continue cooperating with the police by providing timely, credible and actionable information that could aid ongoing security operations. He assured the public that all intelligence received would be handled professionally and used to strengthen efforts to combat kidnapping and other violent crimes in Kwara State.

The statement was signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Kwara State Command, and dated July 10, 2026.
