The Guild of Digital Journalists, Kwara State Chapter (GDJ) has Condemned in strong terms the illegal Abduction of our member, a veteran journalist, Rowland Olonishuwa in the early hours of wednesday by operatives of the Nigeria Police from the Lagos command.
‘Shuwa’ was picked up in the presence of a few of his associates in Ilorin in a lawless, Gestapo like manner, and taken to an unknown destination while also being kept incommunicado with the outside world.
The Guild of Digital Journalists is protesting in the strongest terms, the flagrant abuse of his fundamental rights as a journalist, the non-procedural mode of his arrest and denial of contact to the outside world.
The Guild of Digital Journalists stands in solidarity with the family of Olonishuwa, our Ethics and Quality Control Secretary, whose safety and well being we demand from the concerned authorities.
