The impeached Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, has finally spoken on his removal from office on Saturday at a rally held at his residence in Ikeja, Lagos.
Hon Obasa declared that his impeachment was carried out improperly, alleging that due legal processes were ignored.
Obasa also accused the Lagos State Commissioner of Police of deploying over 200 operatives to his residences in Agege and Ikeja during the Impeachment proceedings, locking his family indoors.
The former speaker dismissed the allegations of corruption leveled against him as baseless, questioning their validity.
He urged anyone with evidence of corruption against him to bring it forward. He dismissed one specific accusation of spending billions on a gate as “unrealistic.”
Early today, Obasa’s supporters gathered in large numbers to give him a heroic welcome at the Speaker’s Lodge in Ikeja.
He informed them that any removal should follow proper legal frameworks and procedures.
Meanwhile, the former Speaker also told his supporters that losing the position of Speaker was not the end of his career.
