Nollywood actress and entrepreneur Iyabo Ojo has publicly expressed concerns for her safety and that of her family, following a fire incident at her Lagos office and renewed tensions with fellow actress Liz Anjorin.
In a video shared on her verified Instagram account, Ojo stated unequivocally that if any harm were to befall her or her children, Anjorin should be held responsible. Her remarks come in the wake of multiple distressing developments, including reported threats and heightened personal security fears.

Earlier in the week, Ojo’s business premises in Lagos were engulfed in flames. While there were no reported injuries, her daughter, Priscilla Ojo, later disclosed that the fire was not an isolated event. According to Priscilla, the family had received a threatening letter in May, which indicated that their movements were being monitored.
Iyabo Ojo corroborated her daughter’s claims in a lengthy social media post on Thursday, July 10. She revealed that just days before Priscilla’s wedding in Tanzania, she received an anonymous letter at her office warning of imminent danger.
“Without prejudice to the ongoing investigation, I must state that a few days before my daughter’s wedding in Tanzania, I received a letter threatening my life. The letter explicitly stated that I would go through hell over the next three months,” the actress wrote.
The situation escalated when Liz Anjorin, in a separate online post, announced the dismissal of a ₦1 billion defamation lawsuit, which had been part of ongoing dispute resolution efforts between both parties. In a now-deleted video, Ojo responded by clarifying that the matter had not yet been formally initiated in court, and was still under preliminary Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) proceedings.
“If anything should happen to my children or me, Lizzy Anjorin should be held responsible. We haven’t started any formal legal case—what was ongoing was just ADR,” Ojo said.
Adding further intrigue, controversial social media commentator Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), reacted to the unfolding drama. In a statement shared online, he described Ojo’s post as startling and suggested he was privy to additional information, but would remain silent out of respect for the actress.
As of the time of reporting, law enforcement authorities have not issued any official statements regarding the fire or the alleged threats. Meanwhile, fans and industry colleagues have continued to express concern and support for Ojo and her family.
