The Ondo State House of Assembly has affirmed it is following proper procedures in investigating allegations against Deputy Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
This follows 22 out of 26 legislators support for impeaching him.
Assembly spokesperson Olatunji Oshati said serving the notice of allegations only initiated proceedings, and did not equate to removal. He stated the process remains in the realm of claims under examination.
Oshati reiterated the lawmakers’ commitment to due process, adding the deputy governor has full rights to defend himself against the charges. The allegations include financial misdeeds and gross misconduct.
