Hon Abolarin Ganiyu Gabriel, AGG, chairman of the House Committee on Public Accounts and chief whip of the Kwara State House of Assembly, has ascribed the noticeable developments, and legislature – executive harmony in the state to the leadership of Governor AbdulRaman AbdulRazaq which prioritized Governance Over politicking, from its inception to date.
The Ekiti-born legislator shared this insight while speaking on the very noticeable infrastructural developments across kwara state during an interactive session organized by the Guild of Digital Journalists, GDJ, in Ilorin on Monday.
Last week, the first lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu was in Kwara State on a 3-day state visit to commission several signature projects of the Gov. AbdulRazaq led administration in the state, during which she expressed immense admiration for the achievements, and showered glowing accolades on the state government amidst an euphoric citizenry.
Commenting on how this feat was achievable in Kwara State, the chief whip traced the foundation to a master stroke meeting which the governor had with members of the 10th Kwara house of Assembly upon inauguration.
At the meeting, “the governor called for prioritizing Governance Over politics”. The meeting also gave birth to the Grassroots Development Program which provides a budgetary provision of N10m project for each constituency.
“Therefore, from the inception of this administration, the winning pair of Governor AbdulRaman AbdulRazaq and Rt Hon Danladi the speaker, prioritized Governance Over politicking, and this enhanced the harmony between the legislature and the executive arms of government.”
On the spread of infrastructural developments, Hon Abolarin stated that the government in the state has been fair to every part of the state. ” There are two or more impactful projects going on in every local government area “.
Meanwhile, AGG, a trained Engineer, has dismissed anxieties of project qualities as inconsequential and borne out of an unbridled zeal of the opposition to discredit the works of His Excellency, the Governor.
“The General Tunde Idiagbon flyover bridge is ok, and safe to use. During a phase in its construction, the governor addressed the needful by bringing in another contractor firm of higher technical competence to make up for the deficiency of the initial contractor.”
