Why We Didn’t Execute Kano’s State Governor’s Order To Evict Ado Bayero – Kano CP

Posted on June 22, 2024June 22, 2024 By Rextun boss No Comments on Why We Didn’t Execute Kano’s State Governor’s Order To Evict Ado Bayero – Kano CP

The Kano State Commissioner of Police, Usaini Gumel, has explained why the State Police Command refused to execute the directive by Governor Abba Yusuf to evict the deposed Emir, Aminu Ado Bayero, from the Nasarawa mini palace.

Recall that on Thursday, Gumel was ordered to evict the deposed emir after the judgement delivered by Justice Liman of the Federal High Court in Kano.

The police commissioner addressed journalists on Friday in Kano and described carrying out the governor’s order as jumping the gun.

He stated that the Kano State Government had filed a case at the state high court on the eviction order, which will be heard on Monday, June 24.

“The police will not evict Ado Bayero because the same government has filed a case at the state high court on the eviction order which would come up on Monday, June 24th,” he said.

“The government is like jumping the gun, if we carry out the order it is like we are pre-empting the court because we don’t know what will happen at the court.”

Meanwhile, security has been strengthened at the Nasarawa mini palace as the four major routes to the palace are being cordoned off by security operatives.
