Kwara Police Rescue Kidnap Victim Unhurt in Omu-Aran Forest, Arrest Two Suspects

Posted on October 30, 2025October 30, 2025 By Rextun boss No Comments on Kwara Police Rescue Kidnap Victim Unhurt in Omu-Aran Forest, Arrest Two Suspects

The Kwara State Police Command has announced a major breakthrough in its ongoing war against kidnapping and other violent crimes, confirming the successful rescue of a victim and the arrest of two suspects in Omu-Aran.

According to an official statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, the operation was executed following credible intelligence that led a joint team of police operatives and vigilantes to the kidnappers’ hideout in Omu-Aran forest. The victim, identified as Haruna Ahamadu, was rescued unhurt, marking yet another operational success for the Command.

Two suspects — Ayisa Ibrahim (female) and Yakubu Hassan (male) — were apprehended during the rescue mission and are currently in police custody. The statement noted that the suspects are assisting investigators with vital information as a manhunt intensifies for the remaining members of the kidnapping gang who fled the scene.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Adekimi Ojo, praised the professionalism and gallantry of the operatives involved in the rescue operation. He reaffirmed the Command’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all residents in Kwara State through proactive intelligence gathering and swift response to criminal threats.

CP Ojo assured the public that investigations are ongoing and that the Command is pursuing strong leads that could lead to further arrests and the eventual dismantling of the entire kidnapping network operating within the area.

The statement also emphasized the Command’s renewed determination to rid the state of criminal elements, encouraging citizens to continue providing timely and useful information to law enforcement agencies.

Furthermore, the Kwara Police Command expressed appreciation for the continued guidance and operational support from the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, whose strategic policing vision has enhanced efficiency and inspired stronger synergy between police formations across the country.

SP Ejire-Adeyemi urged residents to remain calm and law-abiding, assuring them that the police would continue to work around the clock to protect lives and property throughout the state.

This latest rescue operation highlights the increasing effectiveness of community collaboration and intelligence-led policing in tackling kidnapping and insecurity across Kwara State and beyond.
