Liverpool FC delivered a statement performance at Anfield, dismantling Galatasaray SK 4–0 to overturn a first-leg deficit and book a place in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.
Heading into the decisive second leg trailing 1–0 from Istanbul, Liverpool approached the encounter with urgency and purpose, dominating possession early and pinning Galatasaray deep in their own half with relentless attacking pressure.
The breakthrough came in the 25th minute when Dominik Szoboszlai fired home to level the tie on aggregate, sparking belief among the home supporters and setting the tone for what would become a one-sided contest.
Despite missing a penalty in the first half, Mohamed Salah remained influential, constantly troubling the Galatasaray defence with his movement and pace as Liverpool continued to press for a decisive advantage.
The hosts emerged even stronger after the restart, with their attacking intensity overwhelming the Turkish side, who struggled to regain composure under sustained pressure.
Liverpool’s dominance paid off early in the second half when Hugo Ekitike doubled the lead, finishing off a well-worked move that effectively swung the tie in favour of the English side.

Moments later, Ryan Gravenberch added a third goal, capitalizing on defensive lapses to put the outcome beyond doubt and leave Galatasaray with an insurmountable task.
Salah eventually found the back of the net to seal the victory, registering his 50th UEFA Champions League goal and further underlining his status as one of the competition’s most consistent performers.
Galatasaray, who had shown resilience in the first leg, were unable to cope with Liverpool’s tempo and attacking cohesion, offering little resistance as the match slipped away from them in the second half.
The comprehensive victory secured a 4–1 aggregate triumph for Liverpool, who now advance to face Paris Saint-Germain in what promises to be a high-stakes quarter-final clash in Europe’s premier club competition.
