Nigeria’s African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially commenced the sale of expression of interest and nomination forms for its upcoming ward, local government, and state congresses, as well as its national convention, marking a critical step in the party’s internal electoral cycle.
The announcement was made in a statement issued on Sunday by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Chinedu Idigo, who called on eligible members interested in contesting elective party positions to obtain the required forms within the stipulated timeframe.
According to the party, the expression of interest form is priced at ₦2,000 and is non-refundable. Nomination fees vary depending on the level of contest. At the state level, aspirants for the position of chairman are required to pay ₦500,000, while the secretary position costs ₦300,000, and other offices attract a fee of ₦50,000.
For local government positions, the fees are set at ₦40,000 for chairman, ₦30,000 for secretary, and ₦10,000 for other roles. At the ward level, chairmanship forms cost ₦10,000, secretary positions ₦5,000, and other offices ₦3,000.
The party disclosed that all forms can be obtained at its national secretariat in Abuja or through its various state secretariats nationwide.
ADC also fixed Friday, March 27, 2026, as the deadline for the sale and submission of all forms, stressing that late entries will not be entertained.
Following the submission phase, the screening of aspirants is scheduled to take place between March 30 and March 31, 2026. The party urged all aspirants to strictly adhere to its guidelines and procedures ahead of the congresses.
The move comes days after the party unveiled its timetable for nationwide congresses and its national convention, signaling intensified preparations within the ADC as it repositions its internal structures ahead of future political engagements.
With the process now underway, party stakeholders are expected to mobilize across the country as the ADC begins another round of internal reorganisation aimed at strengthening its grassroots and national leadership framework.
