Court Orders Wike’s Son to Produce American Passport in $2.1m Abuja Land Dispute

Posted on September 30, 2026September 30, 2026 By Rextun boss No Comments on Court Orders Wike’s Son to Produce American Passport in $2.1m Abuja Land Dispute

A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), sitting in Maitama, Abuja, has ordered Jordan Ezenwo Nyesom-Wike, son of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, to produce his American international passport before the court in a $2.1 million land dispute.

Justice Sylvanus Oriji issued the order on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, during proceedings in Suit No. CV/008/2026, filed by Safwan Garba GY and GY Global Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited against Jordan Wike.

The order followed an application by counsel to the claimants, Hamza Dantani, after Jordan told the court during cross-examination that he was outside Nigeria on September 26, 2025.

When asked which passport he used to travel, Jordan reportedly told the court that he travelled with his American international passport and indicated that he could produce the document if required. Dantani subsequently asked the court to order him to produce it. Justice Oriji granted the application.

The case arose from allegations by the claimants concerning a proposed acquisition of land in Abuja. According to their account, they first met Jordan in London and later met him in Abuja, where they sought his assistance in facilitating the acquisition of land in the Federal Capital Territory.

The claimants allege that Jordan agreed to facilitate the acquisition of 30 hectares of land in Katampe and another 30 hectares in Guzape.

They further allege that Jordan quoted a facilitation fee of $2.1 million, which they say comprised $2 million allegedly intended for his father, Nyesom Wike, and $100,000 allegedly designated as Jordan’s personal fee. These are allegations made by the claimants and have not been established by the court.

The claimants also alleged that the $2.1 million was delivered in cash on September 26, 2025, in the presence of Adamu Sani, Aliyu Sarki and Sai Wani, while Jordan was accompanied by Onor Sandy.

According to the claimants, the land was not subsequently delivered and the money was not refunded, after which Jordan allegedly became unreachable.

During the resumed hearing, however, Jordan adopted his statement on oath and denied the allegations against him. He was represented by Senior Advocate of Nigeria Ogwu Onoja, and documents were tendered through him.

During cross-examination, Jordan also denied knowledge of allegations and documents put to him by the claimants’ counsel. The court additionally granted an unopposed application requiring him to write his full name and signature five times each on a plain sheet of paper.

The passport order is connected to the conflicting accounts surrounding Jordan’s whereabouts on September 26, 2025, the date the claimants say the alleged payment was made. The case was adjourned until Wednesday for continuation of the hearing.
