The University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) has taken delivery of three complete sets of dialysis machines donated by the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, and his wife, Pastor Mrs. Folu Adeboye.
The equipment, identified as the Nefro Renal Care Solution, was delivered to the hospital in Benin City, Edo State, on Wednesday, September 2, 2026. The donation was made through His Love Foundation (HLF), the RCCG’s global Christian Social Responsibility arm.
Presenting the equipment on behalf of the foundation, Pastor Bode Olojede said the machines were donated by Pastor Adeboye and his wife as part of their support for healthcare interventions in Nigeria.
Olojede explained that His Love Foundation’s humanitarian activities cover several areas, including healthcare, hunger alleviation, education, rehabilitation, prison ministry and social enterprise.
He further noted that the Adeboyes had previously supported healthcare initiatives, including the establishment of intensive care units and dialysis centres in teaching and general hospitals across the country.
Receiving the equipment, the Chief Medical Director of UBTH, Prof. Idia Ize-Iyamu, expressed appreciation for the intervention and said it would complement government investments in the health sector.
According to the UBTH management, the additional dialysis equipment is expected to strengthen the hospital’s capacity to provide renal care and support patients requiring regular dialysis treatment.
The donation comes against the backdrop of the significant financial burden associated with kidney disease treatment in Nigeria, where patients requiring repeated dialysis sessions often face substantial costs.
Also present to receive the equipment was the Federal Commissioner representing Edo State on the Federal Character Commission, Engr. Victor Edoror, who commended the intervention and called for greater support for people living with renal challenges.
The latest donation adds UBTH to the growing list of healthcare institutions that have benefited from initiatives associated with Pastor Adeboye and his wife, with the intervention providing additional equipment for specialised kidney care at the Benin-based teaching hospital.
