A group of protesters numbering not less than hundred, wearing green fez caps with the word “peace” inscribed on them have stormed the streets of Kano, chasing away protesters who were looting shops and other commercial places.
The group comprising the self-styled ‘Peace’ protesters, in their green fez caps, chanted “Mu yanci mukeso ba ruwan mu da kayan kowa,” meaning, “We need freedom from the government, we don’t want anybody’s properties.”
Before the arrival of the peace protesters on the street, the looting protests have wrecked appreciable havoc in which many places were looted and set ablaze, including the NCC office at State Road.
Sources disclosed that the NCC office, which is newly built, and ready for commissioning soon, was looted and set on fire.
