According to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Abdullahi Usman, the incident occurred while the inspector had briefly left the farm to purchase food for his workers in a nearby village.
During his absence, the kidnappers reportedly stormed the farm and held the workers hostage. When Inspector Yaro returned, he found himself facing the kidnappers, who released the workers and abducted him.
