A 37-year-old Nigerian man, Ademola Oke, has been found dead at his workplace in the United Kingdom, marking the third reported case of a sudden death involving a UK-based Nigerian within April 2026.
According to details that emerged through a family fundraising appeal, Oke was discovered unresponsive on April 18 after colleagues raised concern. A co-worker arriving for a night shift reportedly found him seated and unresponsive, prompting an emergency response. He was later confirmed dead at the scene.
Family sources indicated that the deceased had shown no signs of illness prior to the incident. He was said to have left home that morning in good health and maintained regular communication with his wife throughout the day, with nothing suggesting any medical emergency.
The sudden nature of his death has left his family in shock. Oke is survived by his wife and two young children, aged six and two. A fundraising campaign has since been launched to support funeral arrangements and provide financial assistance for the bereaved family.
This latest incident has heightened concern within the Nigerian diaspora community, as it represents the third case of a Nigerian reportedly dying under sudden circumstances in the UK within the same month.
While authorities are yet to publicly disclose the exact cause of death, the pattern of recent incidents has triggered unease among Nigerians abroad, with calls for increased awareness and clarity surrounding such occurrences.
