A nationwide protest, #FearlessInOctober, has officially begun today in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The protest is an extension of the #EndBadGovernance demonstrations that took place between August 1 and 10, sparked by the economic struggles faced by many Nigerians.
As early as 7 a.m today, protesters gathered at the Utako market in the Utako district of the FCT, where the demonstration is currently in full swing.
Director of Mobilisation for the Take It Back Movement, Damilare Adenola, expressed deep concern over the economic difficulties in the country, which he attributed to the policies of the Federal Government.
Meanwhile, the Federal Capital Territory Police Command has assured residents of the nation’s capital city, Abuja, of a hitch-free and secure October 1 independence day celebration.
