Dangote Petroleum Refinery has officially commenced nationwide sales of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, at a revised pump price of ₦739 per litre across all affiliated MRS Oil Nigeria Plc filling stations.
In a statement released by the refinery, the price adjustment is part of ongoing efforts to make fuel more affordable for Nigerians and to stabilise the downstream petroleum sector following the full-scale operations of Africa’s largest private refinery.
Dangote Refinery highlighted that with over 2,000 MRS retail outlets nationwide, the new pricing regime is expected to benefit motorists across the country, offering a significant reduction compared to prevailing market rates.
According to the refinery’s communication, the ₦739 per litre price should be reflected at the pump across all participating stations. The statement also included a call for consumers to report any MRS station selling above this approved rate by contacting a dedicated hotline: 0800 123 5264.
The refinery praised marketers who have already adopted the new price and urged others to adjust their pricing in the national interest. It also warned against practices that could undermine the price reduction, such as artificial scarcity or price manipulation. Regulatory agencies were urged to take decisive action against such conduct, particularly during the high-demand festive season.
In addition to urging award compliance, Dangote Petroleum Refinery reiterated its long-term commitment to energy security, price moderation, and ensuring consistent supply of high-quality petroleum products to Nigerians.
The new pricing framework marks another milestone for Dangote Refinery as it continues to expand its domestic distribution footprint and push for more stable, locally refined fuel prices in Nigeria’s deregulated oil sector.
