Kwara Police Strike Hard on Crime, Arrest Suspected Kidnappers, Murder Suspects, Recover Human Body Parts

Posted on October 13, 2026October 13, 2026 By Rextun boss No Comments on Kwara Police Strike Hard on Crime, Arrest Suspected Kidnappers, Murder Suspects, Recover Human Body Parts

The Kwara State Police Command has recorded a series of arrests and investigative breakthroughs involving suspected kidnappers, armed robbers, motorcycle thieves and other alleged offenders, while intensifying efforts to tackle violent crime across the state.

The State Commissioner of Police, Ojo Adekimi disclosed the developments on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, while briefing journalists on 12 cases handled by the command.

Among the cases highlighted was the alleged torture of a 12-year-old girl in Ilorin over the loss of ₦100 while hawking soya beans. Police identified the suspects as the girl’s biological father, Babatunde Mustapha; stepmother, Abdulrahman Aisat; and a neighbour, Bashirat Abdulfatai. The command said the trio had been arraigned and remanded at the Oke-Kura Correctional Facility.

Beyond the child abuse case, police reported the arrest of two men, Kamalden Lukmon and AbdulGaniyu Ibrahim, in Alapa, where two suspected human hands were recovered. The suspects allegedly told investigators they intended to use the body parts for money-making rituals.

In a related case, two men were arrested in Omupo over the alleged exhumation of graves and removal of human heads.

The command also reported progress in its investigations into kidnapping across the state. Abubakar Usman, alias “Jaye,” a wanted suspect, was arrested at Jebba Cattle Market over alleged involvement in kidnapping incidents in Oke-Ode and Oro-Ago, attacks on vigilante members and a threat to abduct a prominent cattle-rearing association member unless ₦10 million was paid.

In a separate operation, police arrested Ahamdu Dahiru, who allegedly confessed to leading four kidnapping operations in Eruku, Oke-Ode, Idofin and Babanla. According to the command, four AK-47 rifles believed to have been used in the operations were missing from a forest location where they had reportedly been buried. Police are pursuing alleged accomplices and efforts to recover the weapons are ongoing.

Similarly, Umaru Ahmadu was arrested over an alleged kidnapping syndicate linked to the abduction of two people in Okeya, while Saba Ismail was apprehended over an alleged ₦10 million ransom demand and threats to abduct a resident of Edu Local Government Area.

The police also reported the arrest of Salihu Seidu, 25, over the alleged machete killing of his 65-year-old father-in-law, Alhaji Lawal Umar, in Moro Local Government Area. The suspect reportedly claimed during interrogation that he believed the deceased was responsible for his son’s death. Investigations are continuing.

Other cases involved the arrest of three suspected motorcycle thieves and two men allegedly involved in an illegal firearm transaction. The command also reported the arrest of three suspects over an alleged armed robbery at Gure Fulani Camp and the apprehension of Musa Hussein, who was allegedly linked to kidnapping and other criminal activities in the Orile Igbon area of Oyo State.

Commending the state government’s support for security operations, Adekimi praised Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for donating 25 brand-new Hilux vehicles to the command. He said the vehicles would enhance operational mobility, increase police visibility and improve response to security threats across Kwara State.

The commissioner also credited timely information from residents and collaboration with community security groups for assisting police operations. He urged the public to promptly report suspicious activities, kidnapping threats and ransom demands, assuring residents that investigations would continue and suspects would face prosecution where warranted.
