Plateau Communities Placed on Red Alert as US-Based Activist Warns of Possible Midnight Attacks

Posted on December 27, 2025December 27, 2025 By Rextun boss No Comments on Plateau Communities Placed on Red Alert as US-Based Activist Warns of Possible Midnight Attacks

Residents of several communities in Plateau State have been urged to heighten security awareness following an alert issued by Judd Saul, Executive Director of the United States–based humanitarian organisation, Equipping the Persecuted.

Saul, whose organisation supports persecuted Christians in Nigeria, warned that intelligence reports point to a potential coordinated attack by suspected Fulani bandits targeting parts of the state on Saturday, December 27, 2025, particularly around midnight.

In a message shared on his verified X (formerly Twitter) account, Saul disclosed that what he described as “credible and privileged information” suggests that armed groups have concluded plans to strike communities including Kara-Bisichi, Rassa, and Mararaban Foron in the Foron District of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, as well as Latyi in Du District and Kuru in Jos South LGA.

According to Saul, the attacks were initially scheduled for Friday, December 26, but were reportedly postponed, with the assailants now expected to act the following night.

He specifically cautioned residents of the affected areas and neighbouring settlements to remain alert, noting that the planned operation could involve multiple locations simultaneously.

“Communities such as Latyi in Du District, Rassa village of Foron, Mararaban Foron, and Kuru should be on maximum alert on December 27, especially at midnight, because Fulani bandits and terrorists are planning a massive attack,” Saul wrote.

The security alert is not Saul’s first warning regarding Plateau State. Earlier in December, precisely on December 14, he raised concerns over alleged plans by armed groups to carry out attacks on Christmas Day in communities across Riyom, Bokkos, and Barkin Ladi local government areas.

At the time, Saul claimed that militant groups were mobilising fighters and weapons along border corridors linking Plateau with Nasarawa State, as well as routes stretching toward Benue and Kaduna States.

He expressed frustration that previous alerts he issued were reportedly dismissed by Nigerian authorities and security agencies, accusing officials of labelling him an alarmist rather than acting on the intelligence provided.

In one of his earlier statements, Saul said armed groups were “gathering forces” across multiple border regions and preparing what he described as a large-scale assault, warning that failure to act could result in widespread loss of lives, particularly within Christian communities.

Saul further appealed for urgent intervention, calling on both the Nigerian government and international partners to take preventive measures to avert potential bloodshed in Plateau State.
