The Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) has officially released the results of the competitive written examination for candidates seeking appointment as Permanent Secretaries in the Federal Civil Service. Out of 25 candidates who sat for the test, 14 have successfully qualified for the next stage of the selection process.
The next phase for these successful candidates is an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) proficiency test, scheduled to take place on Wednesday, February 25, 2026. This assessment is intended to evaluate the digital skills of the candidates, capabilities considered essential for effective leadership in a modern, technology-oriented public service environment.
Commenting on the outcome, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, said the exercise was conducted in a credible, transparent and competitive manner. She highlighted that this selection aligns with the Federal Government’s ongoing public service reform agenda, which prioritises professionalism, accountability and readiness for future challenges.
Mrs. Walson-Jack reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to a merit-based process that identifies civil service leaders with proven competence, strong integrity, and strategic vision. She also assured that the entire selection process will continue to be guided by fairness and integrity, in line with broader efforts to renew and strengthen Nigeria’s public service.
