In his 300th match in charge, Mikel Arteta watched Arsenal deliver a composed and dominant performance to beat West Ham United 2–0 at the Emirates Stadium, with former Hammers midfielder Declan Rice playing a starring role.
The breakthrough came in the 38th minute when Declan Rice reacted quickly after Eberechi Eze’s shot was parried by Alphonse Areola. Rice coolly tucked the rebound into the net to give Arsenal the lead, scoring against his former club in an emphatic fashion.
With the game balanced until midway through the second half, Bukayo Saka rose to the occasion following a foul on Jurrien Timber by El Hadji Malick Diouf. Saka stepped up and converted the penalty in the 67th minute, making it 2–0 and effectively sealing the three points.
That goal also marked his 200th Premier League appearance.
Generally, Arsenal controlled large parts of the match. They registered roughly 68% possession and limited West Ham to zero shots on target.

Gunners Manager, Mikel Arteta selected a bold midfield trio of Ødegaard, Rice, and Eze, though he would later be forced to adjust.
However, the win came at a cost: captain Martin Ødegaard limped off before halftime with a knee injury, raising fresh concerns about his fitness.
To make matters worse, Rice also left late in the match, attending to a back problem.
West Ham United, under new manager Nuno Espirito Santo, struggled throughout. They remained in the relegation zone after the defeat.
With this win, Arsenal jumped to first place in the Premier League table, edging ahead of Liverpool. The victory underscores Arsenal’s credentials for a title challenge and sends a strong message to their rivals that they are serious contenders this season.
