The Federal Government, through the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), has announced a revised timeline for its ongoing recruitment drive across four key paramilitary agencies. The exercise, initially scheduled to open on June 26, was first postponed to July 14. It has now been temporarily suspended and will resume on July 21, 2025 .
According to a statement released by CDCFIB on July 16, the recruitment portal — accessible via recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng — has been taken offline to enhance system capacity and address high traffic volumes, ensuring a transparent and seamless experience for applicants .

When it relaunched on July 14, the portal opened for applications to the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Correctional Service (NCS), and Federal Fire Service (FFS). Eligible candidates ranging from assistant-level posts to superintendent-level roles were invited to apply online, with educational requirements spanning SSCE to postgraduate qualifications, and physical standards including minimum height and fitness criteria .
Applicants are required to be Nigerian citizens by birth, aged between 18 and 35, physically and mentally fit, and free from criminal records . Each candidate is permitted to submit only one application, ensuring clarity and fairness. The application deadline remains August 4, 2025 .
The Interior Ministry emphasized that the recruitment is merit-based, free of charge, and applicants should be wary of fraudulent intermediaries . The initial intent behind the exercise was to bolster internal security and service delivery across the country, with plans to employ approximately 30,000 personnel nationwide .
The portal’s temporary suspension demonstrates the government’s commitment to both inclusivity and integrity in the recruitment process. CDCFIB thanked Nigerians for their enthusiastic response and pledged to deliver a smooth, credible recruitment exercise when applications resume on Monday, July 21, 2025 .
