Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta, says he is very thankful to Leandro Trossard following a week 2 walloping of Aston Villa 2-0 at Villa Park.
Arsenal secured the 2-0 win at Aston Villa thanks to second-half goals from Leandro Trossard and Thomas Partey on Saturday.
The Gunners boss spoke to BBC Match of the Day on whether his side’s win over Aston Villa feels like a significant one:
“It feels like it because there was a history in those two games last year. It was in our toughness and we had to show it against a really difficult team and we found a way to win the game.
“We generated a lot of situations and a lot of domination but we didn’t translate that into the score. To be a great team, a total team, you need everyone to contribute.
“What the subs did today, especially Leo [Trossard] was unbelievable.”
Arteta commented on celebrating small wins: “That comes from them [the players]. That tells you how much they love winning, competing together and that’s the personality of the team. I like it.”
On Leandro Trossard scoring with first touch: “He’s done it a lot and I’m very thankful to him because I know he doesn’t like it [being on the bench], he deserves to play as well. When he comes in he really makes a difference.”
Meanwhile, Arsenal by this victory maintains their hundred percent results for the second week of the new league season.
