Tension has escalated in Isapa, a community in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, following fresh threats issued by the kidnappers who abducted ten residents during a recent attack. The armed gang has contacted the community again, insisting on a ₦300 million ransom for the release of the captives.
The kidnappers reportedly gave Isapa a one-week ultimatum to pay the demanded amount or risk the execution of all abducted victims. According to community leaders, the criminals warned that failure to comply within the deadline would lead to another violent invasion aimed at killing many more residents.

The Chief Hunter of Isapa, Mr. Adeyeye, explained the situation in an interview with the press. He noted that the kidnappers initially demanded ₦500 million, but later reduced it to ₦300 million after further communication. Despite pleas from the community offering ₦5 million, the armed group rejected the offer, describing it as unacceptable and far below their expectations.
Mr. Adeyeye said the kidnappers threatened to unleash more terror on the town if their demands were not met. According to him, the group also boasted that they were responsible for the recent attack on a C&S Church in Ejiba, Kogi State, where a pastor, his wife, and other worshippers were kidnapped.
Residents remain gripped by fear, as many recall that the Isapa incident was not the first time the town was targeted. On the 23rd of last month, gunmen stormed the community near Eruku and abducted several people. During that attack, a local hunter confronted the criminals and was shot, but the bullet reportedly failed to penetrate his body.
