The Nigerian Air Force has confirmed that its Air Component under Operation HADIN KAI carried out successful precision airstrikes targeting terrorist elements in the Yuwe axis of the Sambisa Forest on Monday, resulting in the elimination of several insurgents.
According to a statement from the Air Force, the operation was part of ongoing intensified efforts to degrade and dismantle terrorist networks operating within the North-East theatre. The strikes were executed with precision, focusing on identified hostile positions used by the insurgents for coordination and concealment.
Military authorities noted that the mission was based on credible intelligence, which indicated the presence of terrorist fighters within the targeted enclave. Following confirmation, air assets were deployed to engage the locations, achieving what officials described as effective and decisive impact on the targets.
The Sambisa Forest, long regarded as one of the major hideouts for insurgent groups in the region, has remained a focal point of counterterrorism operations under Operation HADIN KAI. The latest air offensive is part of continued efforts by the Nigerian Armed Forces to suppress terrorist activity and restore stability across affected communities.
While full battle damage assessment is still being compiled, initial reports indicate that several terrorists were neutralised in the strike, with their logistics and operational capabilities significantly disrupted.
The Nigerian Air Force reiterated its commitment to sustaining air operations in support of ground forces, emphasizing that such coordinated offensives will continue until terrorist elements are fully neutralised in the region.
