Prof. Wale Sulaiman Congratulates AbdulRazaq on Turbaning as Sardauna of Ilorin, Hails Landmark Projects

APC chieftain and Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Ila-Orangun (FUHSI), Prof. Wale Sulaiman, CON, has congratulated the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, on his turbaning as the Sardauna of Ilorin Emirate by the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Council of Chiefs, His Royal Highness Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR.

Prof. Sulaiman described the traditional honour as a fitting recognition of Governor AbdulRazaq’s leadership, public service and contributions to the development of Kwara State. He commended the administration’s investments in healthcare, education, infrastructure, economic development and human capital, which he said have contributed to creating new opportunities for the people and strengthening the state’s development foundation.

He particularly acknowledged the commissioning of two major projects by Vice President Kashim Shettima as part of activities marking the turbaning. The projects include the Kwara Garment Factory, a flagship industrial initiative expected to create more than 4,000 direct jobs at full capacity, and the 11-storey Kwara Revenue Service building, constructed to serve as the headquarters of the state’s internal revenue service. The Revenue House was said to be financed through savings from consultancy fees that would otherwise have been paid to external consultants.

According to Prof. Sulaiman, the projects demonstrate the administration’s focus on industrialisation, employment generation, institutional efficiency and economic expansion. He also commended other development initiatives across the state, including investments in healthcare and education, road infrastructure, the Ilorin Innovation Hub, International Conference Centre, Visual Arts Centre and other projects aimed at expanding economic and social opportunities.

He further applauded Governor AbdulRazaq for his ability to assemble a visionary team capable of translating his administration’s development agenda into tangible projects and programmes.

“His Excellency, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, deserves commendation for his commitment to the development of Kwara State. His strategic investments are helping to create the foundation for greater economic opportunities and sustainable development. I sincerely congratulate him on this significant traditional honour,” he said.

He congratulated the Governor once again and prayed that Allah (SWT) would continue to strengthen him with wisdom, sound health, prosperity and the capacity to provide greater service to the people of Kwara State and Nigeria.
