In what appears to be a more determined bid, Chelsea have initiated a more definite talk with Leeds over a deal for Raphinha, with the Blues prepared to pay in excess of £50m to get the deal done.
Chelsea’s bid has at this point dwarfed Arsenal, who had their initial bid rejected but are expected to go back in with an improved offer.
Meanwhile, pundits have hinted that Spanish club,
Barcelona are also moving to sign Raphinha, whose agent is a former Barca player Deco. This might be a factor for Barcelona in addition to its deep purse.
Raphinha has been Leeds’ outstanding attacking player since joining two seasons ago, scoring 17 Premier League goals.
