The Federal Government has said it will meet today with the leadership of the Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU) over the one-month warning strike embarked by its members.
The Deputy Director of Press and Public Relations in the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Mr. Charles Akpan, announced this in a statement yesterday in Abuja.
Akpan said Labour and Employment Minister Chris Ngige will meet with the executives of the union and other relevant government agencies.
“The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday (today) by 1 p.m at the minister’s conference room,” the statement said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the striking lecturers had embarked on a four-week roll-over total and comprehensive strike on February 14, to press home their demands.
