A 19-year-old new teenage mother and her newborn son are in hospital following a traumatic post birth experience in which the teenager allegedly stabbed the newborn baby boy in the throat.
The baby was born in Anambra yesterday, May 22, to the teen mum who had hidden her pregnancy from her family.
The teenager reportedly gave birth when no one was at home and allegedly stabbed the baby in the throat. She then took him and dumped in the gutter.
However, a child who saw her raised alarm and residents picked up the child and traced the mother.
They found her alone at home, bleeding.
Both mother and child were rushed to the hospital, according to Chinenye Henrietta who shared the story and video on Facebook.

Meanwhile, reactions have trailed the tragic occurrence. While some claim the teen mother stabbed the baby intentionally to get rid of him, other witnesses have claimed that it was a mistake. They said the girl, while trying to cut the placenta, mistakenly stabbed herself in her lady parts and also mistakenly slashed the baby’s throat.
No arrests have been made.
